Sound Healing Treatments

I offer one to one sound therapy sessions, where I can work with you on a personal level.
Sessions usually start by discussing any concerns you might have and agreeing on an healing intention and focus for the session.

Treatments then take place fully clothed throughout, and you either lie on a treatment couch or futon, or sit in a chair, according to your needs or preference. A typical session lasts one hour.  All the instruments I use, can be placed ether on the body (e.g. singing bowls) or near the body. You set the limits to what feels comfortable.

Instruments I use include...:

Live Piano, Guitar, Siberian Mouth Arps, Tibetan singing bowls, Tribal Shakers, Drums,  Hokema Thums Pianos, American Flutes,  Indian Harmonium, Indian resonating Arps, Shruti Box,

I also use vocal overtones (one of the most powerful and ancient form of healing with the human voice) together with toning (pure vowel sounds).

Shiatsu & Sound Healing

Shiatsu is an healing methodology which requires the pro-active engagement of both therapist and receiver for healing to take place.

I use music and sound to enhance the effectiveness of my shiatsu treatment as sound has beneficial effects for relaxation and stress reduction, enabling my clients to be more present and focused during the session, ultimately increasing the effectiveness of the treatment.  Sound and music can help the body feel safe, and when a body is at “ease” , it can open to receive at all the other levels and to go back to its natural state of harmony.

During my treatments I often also use high quality speakers on both side of my client, creating a stereo immersive experience which aid in creating brainwave activity similar to when a person is meditating or in a hypnotic state. Music can hence be used to induce mental states with therapeutic effects, such as easing symptoms of migraines, depression, PMS, worry and even behavioral issues

Resonance Sound Journeys

Sound healing sessions are designed to create a safe space and a state of intentional relaxation. This enhances the self-regulation of the body, the unwinding and reprogramming the nervous system, ultimately affecting the body biochemistry.

I have been running monthly meditative sound-journeys and workshops across Scotland, exploring the healing power of sound vibration resonance, overtones and harmonics.

Healing through sound & vibration

Everything in the universe is in a state of vibration, from this page you are reading, the chair we are sitting on, and therefore is creating a sound, at least on the subtle energy level. This includes our body, every organ, bone, tissue is vibrating at particular frequencies.

Sound is vibration that can be translated by the delicate structures of our inner ear, but it moves more than just those tiny receptors. It is part of the spectrum of energy vibrations that affect us on the mental, physical, and spiritual levels.

Modern science is also finally recognizing that energy constitutes the blueprint of the physical body. Meanwhile, the energetic vibration of sound can be used to change that blueprint in ways that foster health and well-being. Genes literally express themselves in different ways when exposed to specific kinds of sound. Recognizing the power of sound, many ancient cultures  used sounds, chants and drumming to heal people. In ancient Egypt, Greece, and India, the use of sound and music for healing was a highly developed sacred science while in ancient healing systems such as Chinese medicine and Indian Ayurveda associate specific musical notes with subtle-energy systems of the body, such as in yoga where particular notes of music correspond to each of the seven chakras.
